Rape - Sexual Violence Risk Reduction and Prevention Education and Training
The Family Life Center received a grant from the Florida Department of Health to provide Rape Risk Reduction Prevention Education presentations. The purpose of these presentations is to increase awareness of Sexual Violence and to reduce the number of forcible rapes and sexual offenses by increasing knowledge about Sexual Violence Prevention, altering gender stereotypical attitudes and beliefs. The goal result is positive behavioral changes. Our target audience has been middle and high school students, however, these presentations are appropriate for community and professional groups as well. These trainings are offered FREE in Volusia and Flagler Counties and are available in one or two 50 minute sessions. The first session focuses on Defining Rape and Sexual Violence, Identifying Rape Myths and Misconceptions, Differentiate Between Consent and Coercion and more. The second session focuses on Identifying Facts About Sexual Violence, Recognizing the Vulnerability of all Types of People and more.
Domestic Violence Risk Reduction and Prevention Education and Training The Family Life Center is able to present on a wide variety of Domestic Violence Topics from the Dynamics of Violence to Healthy Relationships. Staff members have given presentations at business meetings, church functions, police groups, coalitions, task forces, civic groups, social service agencies, continuing education workshops, colleges, and schools. We are also available to give PowerPoint presentations to provide a brief overview of our Services and Programs. Staff can tailor our presentations and/or workshops to meet your group's individual needs and preferences.
