Partners Leave?
People in a violent relationship experience many
obstacles to leaving the abusive situation. They feel trapped
because there are numerous risks to leaving an abusive partner and
even trying to seeking help.
Physical Violence and
Psychological Harm

Escalated threats and physical violence resulting
in harm to victim, children, friends, and/or family

Batterer may follow through on suicide threats
and harm him/herself

Harassment, stalking, and verbal attacks,
especially if batterer had ongoing contact

if batterer had unsupervised visitation rights
